Facelift and Necklift

The effects of gravity, sun exposure, and the stresses of daily life take their toll on our faces over time – deep creases appear beside the mouth, the jawline slackens, and fat deposits and folds appear on the neck. Facelift surgery, or rhytidectomy, restores a more youthful appearance to the face by tightening the facial and neck muscles as well as removing any excess skin. After surgery, some patients appear 10-15 years younger.

A facelift is performed under attended local or general anesthesia. Incisions are made within the hairline (or along the hair margin) above the ear, extending down around the earlobe, and ending in the hairline below the ear. The muscles of the face and neck are tightened, the facial skin is redraped and lifted, and any excess skin is removed. A facelift significantly improves facial appearance and also has a dramatic effect on the neck, enhancing its contour and profile.

A facelift is frequently performed in conjunction with eyelid surgery, a forehead lift, chin augmentation, and/or neck liposuction to rejuvenate the entire face.

Cheek Lift

The cheek lift, or midfacelift, is a procedure that elevates the cheek upwards, which counteracts the pull of gravity and creates a natural, younger, and more rested looking appearance. Lifting the cheeks helps rejuvenate hollow lower eyes, pulls up the corners of the mouth, softens smile lines, and restores fullness to the cheeks. The cheek lift differs from the facelift in how much lifting is done of the fat and muscles, and in how much extra skin needs to be removed. Unlike the facelift, the cheek lift leaves no visible scars. In general, a cheek lift is recommended for patients in their 30s to 50s, while a facelift is appropriate for older patients or those with significant loose skin or a heavier face.

Forehead Lift (Browlift)

A forehead lift, or browlift, restores a more youthful, revitalized appearance to the area above the eyes. The procedure corrects drooping of the eyebrows and improves forehead lines and wrinkles to help you look less tired, sad, or angry. In a forehead lift, the muscles and tissues that cause the wrinkles or drooping are removed or repositioned in order to smooth the forehead, elevate the eyebrows, and diminish frown lines.

There are several techniques available for performing a forehead lift. Which technique is most appropriate depends on how far the brows have fallen, your hair growth, and your forehead shape. In a minimally invasive, or endoscopic, browlift, small incisions are made in the hairline just above the ears. The skin is lifted and repositioned, and the muscles are then tightened.

The forehead lift is typically associated with a very quick recovery, little to no discomfort after surgery, and a natural, rested appearance after surgery.

Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, can rejuvenate puffy, sagging, or tired-looking eyes by removing excess skin, fat, and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. It may be performed for cosmetic reasons or to improve sight by lifting droopy eyelids out of the patient's field of vision. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis under attended local or general anesthesia. The incisions are made where the natural crease should be for the upper lids, and below the lash line or inner aspect of the lid for the lower lids. Excess fat and skin are removed. Muscles may be tightened.

Nasal Surgery

The nose is a central feature of our face that should be in balance with the rest of our features. Cosmetic nasal surgery, or rhinoplasty, can reshape the nose for people who are dissatisfied with the shape and size of their nose. Rhinoplasty may also help those patients with difficulty breathing. Rhinoplasty can reshape virtually any aspect of the nose, including the bridge, tip, and nostrils. We will help you assess each of these areas and recommend how they might be improved. Rhinoplasty is an outpatient procedure performed under either local or general anesthesia. The recovery after rhinoplasty usually takes one to two weeks. The results from rhinoplasty are seen immediately but continue to improve for the next 3-6 months.

Cheek and Chin Augmentation

Facial implants can improve and enhance the shape of the face. These implants can help provide more balance to your facial features by strengthening the jawline or bringing the chin or cheekbones into balance with the rest of the face. There are many different types of implants available. We will help you select the best type for you.

Lip Augmentation

Lip augmentation is appropriate for patients who desire fuller lips and those who want to reduce wrinkles above or below the lip line. There are many techniques available for lip augmentation, including injection of “fillers” to plump up the lips. Fillers that may be used to plump up the lips include your own fat, collagen, hyaluronic acid (such as Restylane and Juvederm), and others. We can explain the benefits of each and recommend which type would be best for you.

Ear Surgery

Ear surgery, also called otoplasty, is usually done on prominent ears to set them back closer to the head or to decrease the size of large ears. Otoplasty is usually performed through an incision behind the ear. The ear cartilage is sculpted and reshaped.
